Victims were two 30-year-old men from Bradford, possibly passengers in rideshare vehicle

Two 30-year-old men are dead after a crash on Highway 400 in Vaughan early Sunday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police received calls around 3:45 a.m. for a collision near Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 400 between a transport truck and passenger vehicle, said OPP in an email to CBC News.
Two 30-year-old men from Bradford were in the backseat of the passenger vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Kerry Schmidt on social media.
The 50-year-old Toronto driver of the vehicle, believed to be a rideshare car, is in critical condition at hospital, he said.
Schmidt said an investigation is still ongoing, but that it appears the rideshare vehicle either lost control or hit the “crash cushion end treatment that separates the highway from the off-ramp,” before it veered back into northbound lanes and was struck by a truck.
The driver of the truck was not injured and remained at the scene.

All northbound lanes from Major Mackenzie Drive are expected to be closed until noon for the ongoing investigation. Drivers are being requested to avoid the area and plan accordingly.
While it’s snowing in the area as of 10 a.m. Sunday, Schmidt says road conditions were “normal” and “dry” at the time of the crash.
Any witnesses are urged to reach out to OPP investigators.
