Video Footage Captured a Masked Intruder During a Midday Break-in

Westwood was the scene of a midday burglary that left a family without their wedding jewelry and shaken in their own home after a masked thief tore through several rooms on Tuesday, as reported by KTLA News.
The break-in happened around 11:45 a.m. in the area of Ashton Avenue and Westholme Street. The intruder was on a baby monitor in a child’s bedroom, where a camera captured him searching through the closet for a few moments.
While little in the child’s room appeared disturbed, much of the rest of the house was ransacked. The family later discovered that all of their wedding jewelry and some cash kept inside the home had been stolen.
The police do not know how the suspect got into the residence, but he left the homeowners dealing with both the loss of sentimental items and the fear that comes with having their space entered by a stranger. They said the incident has made them feel on edge and less secure in their own home.
Anyone who was in the neighborhood at the time of the burglary, recognized the suspect from the video images, or may have security footage from the area, is urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
